Let's Get It Started

Hello, everyone, and welcome to my blog!  My name is Andrea Ritz, and I am a student at Central Michigan University.  This summer, I will be participating on my second study abroad program and attending the Copenhagen Business School!  I cannot wait to live in Denmark for six weeks (from June 20-August 2), embrace the culture, and experience Europe for the first time while hopefully forming strong friendships with fellow students from around the world.

Up until this point, countless hours have been devoted to deciding where to study abroad, meeting with my wonderful advisor many times, sending endless amounts of emails, and filling out heaps of scholarships, applications, and other documents.  However, every second has been worthwhile as I prepare to go to Copenhagen.  My acceptance into the International Summer University Program is confirmed.  My courses are scheduled: Intro to Marketing and Fundamentals of Finance.  My flight is booked, and my housing reservation is confirmed- Tietgenkollegiet, here I come!  My suitcase is out and starting to be packed; for the most part, I am ready to go.  Departure on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 6:12 pm frankly cannot come soon enough.

It is crazy to reflect on how everything has fallen into place.  As a jet-setter at heart, there are many destinations I plan to venture to and experience in my lifetime.  Of all the places to go, I would not have predicted that Denmark would be next on my list.  Now, however, I could not be more excited to spend my summer in Copenhagen!  Under one month from now, I will be flying across the world to commence what is sure to be an unforgettable adventure.

Last July, I spent 19 days in Beijing on a faculty-led program.  Exploring the city, climbing the Great Wall, and overcoming previously-held fears made my experience monumental!  Truly, I love study abroad and the adventurous side it brought out of me in China; it will be interesting to see how my time in Copenhagen will also alter my life.
